Biotic (2020)
a selection of woodblocks, hand pressed on rice paper, which were exhibited in the 2020 National Art School BFA Grad Show.
Biotic is a body of work which focuses on the material processes of carving and hand pressing prints. These works represent a coming-to-terms with the new limitations of the medically compromised body.
The use of suburban streetscapes reflects heightened awareness and observations of place, time and sense of self during fleeting moments of transition and commuting.
