EXPERIENTIAL DESIGN / ART DIRECTION
While studying I took an elective which crossed departments with JMC’s FTV course and discovered a new interest in art direction for film. In this class I learnt to do script breakdowns, create art department budgets, pitch concepts, create floor plans, croquis, concept art and build scale models.
Pictured are some of my set concepts for one of my collaboration projects with Jinsol Seong (who managed costume) for our gritty, cyberpunk adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s Howl’s Moving Castle which draws on this movie adaptation’s heavier themes of war, poltics, class and self love.
With my brother and friends in film I hope to one day persue this area of design and hope to end up in an art direction role one day...
I fear I enjoyed it way too much...
